Dr. Aman Hingorani

Dr. Aman Hingorani, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India, has been practicing law since 1992. Dr. Hingorani also acts as a Mediator at the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court mediation centres, and as an Arbitrator at the Delhi International Arbitration Centre, Delhi High Court; the PHDCCI Centre for International Arbitration and Mediation; the Indian Council of Arbitration; and IDRRMI-RMIT, Melbourne, Australia, amongst other institutions in India and abroad. Dr. Hingorani serves on the Executive Council, NUSRL, Ranchi, and on the Board of Mentors, Masters (Executive) in Mediation & Conflict Resolution, MNLU, Mumbai.
Dr. Hingorani has been adjunct faculty since 1998 to teach law students and has run training courses for judicial officers, lawyers and law teachers. Dr. Hingorani has taught in programmes at several institutions in India (including the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, several State Judicial Academies and National Law Schools; Campus Law Centre, Delhi University; and the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi) and abroad (including Keble College, University of Oxford, UK; Law School, Warwick University, UK; South Asian Institute of Advanced Legal and Human Rights Studies, Dhaka, Bangladesh).
Dr. Hingorani is an international trainer for advocacy and mediation skills and, in fact, was the faculty for the first ever online Mediation Skills Workshop conducted by SCAORA from 18 – 22 April 2020 for practicing lawyers. Dr. Hingorani has prepared curriculum such as the ADR preparatory material for the All-India Bar Examination conducted annually by the Bar Council of India; the ADR Manual for the FICCI, New Delhi as its National Consultant; the Mediation Rules for the PHDCCI, New Delhi and the modules for the Indo- British Project on Advocacy Skills Training, British Council, New Delhi. Dr. Hingorani was requested to give expert evidence on the Mediation Bill, 2021 by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, Rajya Sabha, Parliament of India, and many of his recommendations have been reflected in the Mediation Act, 2023.
Dr. Hingorani has authored the book, Unravelling the Kashmir Knot – Past, Present and Future (Macmillan), which pieces together a practical, and novel, solution to the Kashmir issue that has escaped consideration so far. Dr. Hingorani has been invited to address national and international audiences, including various stakeholders, on the Kashmir issue, and to give expert evidence on the Kashmir issue before the Foreign Affairs Committee, House of Commons, UK Parliament.
Dr. Hingorani has another 85 publications, both national and international, on varied subjects ranging from Public Interest Litigation jurisprudence to the Bhopal Gas tragedy to mediation to the grant of intellectual property protection to genetically modified organisms to the dynamics of global missile proliferation.
