International Conference on “Synergies of Law and Economics: Pathways to Viksit Bharat 2047”
The International Conference on “Synergies of Law and Economics: Pathways to Viksit Bharat 2047” will be held on 1st and 2nd November 2025 at the National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, jointly organized by the Centre for Law and Economics (CLE) and the Centre for Tribal Studies and Research (CTSR). This interdisciplinary conference seeks to explore how the convergence of legal and economic frameworks can contribute to India’s transformation into a developed nation by 2047. It aims to foster dialogue among stakeholders from diverse sectors including academia, policy, law, judiciary, and industry on the creation of efficient, equitable, and sustainable solutions to national challenges.
The conference will delve into thematic areas such as legal reforms for economic growth and empowerment, sustainable development and the green economy, data governance and the digital economy, international trade and diplomacy, judicial reforms, and legal frameworks for public-private partnerships and infrastructure development. It invites participation from legal professionals, economists, policymakers, judges, financial experts, researchers, NGOs, and students at various academic levels.
Eminent national and international experts, including Prof. (Dr.) Ejan Mackaay (Université de Montréal, Canada), Dr. Donatella Porrini (University of Salento, Italy), and several Vice Chancellors and senior faculty from reputed Indian institutions, along with leaders from Indian Bank and Axis Bank, will serve as resource persons. The event will be held under the patronage of Hon’ble Justice Shri Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash, Vice Chancellor of NLIU, Bhopal and Prof. (Dr.) Bir Pal Singh. The conference is convened by Dr. Seema Shrivastava and Dr. Padma Singh, with coordination by Dr. Pooja Kiyawat, Ms. Saubhagya Bhadkaria, and Mr. Abhishek Negi. This platform aspires to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, generate policy insights, and strengthen the legal-economic discourse crucial to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat.
