About the Cell
The Cell was established in 2007 with the vision of fostering a culture of peaceful conflict resolution. The Cell is the oldest Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell in Asia, reflecting NLIU’s long commitment to academic excellence and innovation in the field of law.
This year ADRC organised the 4th edition of the NLIU International Negotiation Competition in collaboration with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, the largest full service law firm in India. We were honoured to have the presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh, Judge, High Court of Kerala for the Valedictory Ceremony of the Competition along with Mr. Reuben Chacko, Partner, CAM.
The Cell also organised the 12th edition of its flagship mediation tournament, the 12th NLIU INADR International Mediation Tournament. The tournament is the oldest and one of the biggest mediation tournament in Asia. This year the tournament witnessed participation of teams and judges from across the globe. We were honoured to have Hon’ble Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta, Chairperson, India International Arbitration Centre and former judge of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India as the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony of the tournament.
In addition to this, the Cell in order to promote and foster education in the field of ADR had started the Lex Peritia: Knowledge Series in 2020. The series serves as an umbrella series comprising workshops and interactive training sessions conducted by notable experts in the field of ADR. This year, the series saw numerous workshops and webinars including:

The Cell also formalized its Mentorship Program, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the preparation and performance of NLIU teams in national and international mediation/negotiation competitions. As a result of this, the University saw a record number of achievements from the students of the University this year.
