People United for Law, Education, and Rehabilitation (P.U.L.E.R.) is a student-driven endeavor of National Law Institute University, Bhopal. Founded in July 2009, P.U.L.E.R. works to provide free and quality education to underprivileged students in the neighboring villages by taking supplementary classes at the local government school. It provides instruction in the fields of music, arts and computer to ensure a more wholesome learning experience. P.U.L.E.R. also conducts legal awareness programs and pamphlet distributions among the villagers. The cell tries to get financial assistance for further education, study material and other requirements of underprivileged students. P.U.L.E.R. is open to collaborations with other organizations in this regard.
For this academic year, P.U.L.E.R. will focus on five key agendas:
- Education Program
- Computer Classes
- Dance and Music Classes
- Painting and Craft Classes
- Legal Awareness Program
- Content Creation
Additionally, the cell works in collaboration with various other cells and organizations and has recently:
- Procured stationery and notebooks with Bhopal-based NGO, Punarathan;
- Procured reading material for the students in collaboration with Project AWAZ;
- Organized a medical camp for the people of Mendori village in collaboration with the Legal Aid Clinic, NLIU and DIYA (Diabetes India Youth in Action).
P.U.L.E.R. presently comprises of 105 members and is still growing. This year’s Executive Board comprises of:
